Securing Street Sales
Bold, illustrated menu design that stops tourists mid-stride and turns curiosity into bookings.
Client:
The Original City Tour, 2025
Brief:
Design a professional, high-impact service menu for Krakow’s competitive city-center sightseeing market — one that instantly grabs attention, clearly communicates the offer, and turns street-level sales into an easy ride.
Outcome:
Achieved over 11% sales growth in the first year, boosted employee morale, and earned strong praise from industry insiders.
Process:
I shadowed the sales team in action to see how boards were actually used, noting where they failed to make tourists stop. Conversations with staff revealed that the moment a passerby paused for a chat, conversion rates jumped dramatically. Observing competitors and tourist behaviour on-site showed me the visual noise we’d be fighting against.
From there, I set out to design a street-smart board that could cut through that chaos. I leaned into playful, attention-grabbing elements to appeal to a broad mix of entertainment-seeking tourists — from families to stag groups — while keeping prices crystal-clear. Every choice, from typography scale to colour blocking, was tested for instant readability at a distance and in motion.

A top-quality, bold, eye-catching design that demands attention. Flashy and engaging, it sparks curiosity, pulling tourists in and encouraging them to stop and learn more. This particular role belongs to the bright yellow front side of the board.
The Dragon of Wawel is a legendary symbol of Krakow. According to the legends, he once lived beneath Wawel Hill (where the Royal Castle stands) until he was outsmarted and fatally tricked by a weak, yet creative shoemaker. Moral? Ideas are power.
